Lake Palestine

Any one who lives/fishes on Lake Palestine?

We live on the Lake in the Saline Creek area.

Crappie have moved from the deep water around the bridges, but we are not hearing too many reports of any "shallow" fish. Guess they are just wandering around aimless in this crazy weather.

Our dock sits in 10-12 feet with 22-24 feet nearby and usually has lots of action by this time of year, but it's been slow.

Some condos I put out at the end of the dock have brought in a few, but no true numbers yet.

Hopefully it will improve soon. My biggest concern is the effect that the hybrids have on the crappie. The hybrids have been in here all winter in large numbers and they seem to devour anything and everything that the cormorants and pelicans do not. (And the cormorants have not left yet !)

If anyone has any better info, please let me know.

Fished your area Friday evening and Saturday morning. Shallow bite was good. Fish were on brush in 3' to 4' around docks. 2' and less around shorline grass in back of pockets. Filled the cooler with nice slabs. My first time to fish the lake for crappie and I was impressed.
