Default charging from a tiller motor any way

just wondering if there was a way to charge the trolling battires from a 30 hp 1996 evenruide. i know the bass boats have a way of charging but didn't know if i could do it with a tiller?

    thanks,

If all you did was run up and down the lake all day at WOT you could do it. But for practical applications an outboard just doesn't put out enough amperage to do what you want to do. This has been discussed many times on outboard repair forums that I frequent.

It would have to be bigger than the boat to do much good. A roughly 3X5 panel would recharge a set of batteries in about 8 hours in full, direct sun. Cost for that would be over $1000 dollars. Way cheaper to add batteries.
