My favorites!
I like the Pfleuger 6725 reel if the rod is 6' or shorter and the Shimano Spirex 1000RD if the rod is longer than 6'6". I prefer the Shimano overall because of the quickfire trigger and I wish I could find it on the smaller reels. Just my .02.

The smoothest spinning reels I own are Pflueger Trions,these are the reels I use for any cast and retrieve fishing I do.I also have a bunch of the Wally Marshall spinning reels and they work well for what I use them for and were half the cost of the Pfluegers.
