Molding is a lot of fun, also try to finish off your jigs with paint.
remember gloves, ventilation and a dust mask are useful or safe ways to mold.
good luck to ya!
wva doit molds, lee production pots. make sure you use soft lead. It ain't hard to do, just takes a little time to get going. How is the fishing up that way?

Like wvspec said, " do-it molds, and Lee heating pots. Instructions come with the pot. I just started myself and its fairly easy. Like everyone has mentioned
VENTILATION! Use a small fan to move fumes out of the area that you are working in. Light leather gloves would be a good idea. Maybe an old pair of golf or tennis glove would work. Keep your metal HOT and keeping the slag cleaned off the top is important. Don't expect every time you pour to be perfect. Good luck!:D
By far Do it molds are the best. Also pre heat your mold. One way to pre heat a mold is to pour lead into the molds the first time without using any hooks. You can alway reuse the lead. To keep the mold heated I place it on a warming plate. The kind of hot plate used for keeping a pot of coffee warm. You can pick them up at the dollar store. Keeping a mold heated helps the lead flow smooth and into even the tinest areas like the collar or hook of 1/32 oz jig Some pros I have seen place the mold on top of the heating pot. I dont like that idea. It's not worth spilling the pot over and getting hurt!
All these post are right on but I would add this. Be very, very careful. Lead is very toxic, especially to kids. It can be absorbed through the skin by touch as well as breathed in during production. Never pour lead inside your house. Pour outside if you can. Also be very careful loading your Lee pot. I once blew 10 lbs. of lead out of one in an instant. I put in a cold scrap sinker with a brass swivel in it. I was wearing glasses or I would have been hurt. The dog never did come back
I'm still LOL!! I bet you miss that dog! LOL your quote is so true!:D
