I have been looking at the Cardinal 101 or 102 spinning reels. They sure feel good and smooth in the store. May give one a try.

I totally agree. Pfleuger is one of the best reels that I have ever owned.

Does anybody have any of the old Zebco Cardinal 3 reels that they would want to part with?

I have the 101 and when I need another spinning reel, It will be replaced with another just like it. As a matter of fact, I may just go ahead and buy a couple of more before they quit making them.

One of my best fishing buddies has several 300 Series Mitchells that he swears by. Two are over 30 years old. He uses them relentlessly.

Last summer he bought a new one. It seems the bail turns the opposite direction of his old reels and he was disapointed.

I am left handed and the bail turns directly into my index finger...I now have a new reel that suits me fine!
