I've started using the Orvis or Becker knot:

It's easy to tie and very strong. Several knot "gurus" swear by it.
Just wondering what kind of knot you all use when tieing a jig to your line?

I either use the palomar or if I want 2 jigs on 1 line I'll use the surgeon's loop. Both are very strong.
I agree with smoothlures.... Palomar and Surgeon...
I'm old and stuck in my ways. I've been fishing a Palomar knot for about 50 years and it is still a great strong knot and easy to tie.

With weedguard - Palomar
Plain head - Double Surgeon

Palomar knot. If your eyes or fingers don't work like they used to (me) run it through single & back through single. Makes tying a lot easier.
i agree with palomar knot
Agreed - best all around knot. Best knot strength and break weight. I've been using it for over 20 yrs. I used the fishermans/berkley/rapala knot before but the palomar is better and easier to tie.Originally Posted by shipahoy41
Just remember to spit lube your knot before tightening. Cinching a dry knot can create enough heat to weaken your line.

Good things come to those who bait.
