    Default Tying chenille?

I just spent about 2 hours trying to find a video here that shows how to add chenille. Does anyone remember where it is?

Nope, but it's pretty easy to explain.
Tie in your tail, wrap back to the jighead. Lay the end of the chenille at the jighead and tie back to the tail, then wrap your thread forward. Tightly and evenly wrap the chenille around the hook until you get to the head, then give it a few wraps of the thread around the chenille and finish.

I just take a piece of chenille wrap thread around it at the head and wrap a line down and back up to the head. Then wrap the body with chenille back up to the head, and finish off with a whip finish. But of course some people wrap from the head down, but whatever.

I'm pretty sure the videos you're looking for were in a thread that got deleted.

Here's one I found on youtube. Just do a search for "woolly bugger" and you'll find lots more.

After watching those again I think my biggest problem is I'm using too small of chenille. I'm using White River small and think I need at least medium. I only do 1/16 or 3/16 jigs. Sure would be nice if all the manufacturers of these various things would use the same measuring system.

You need #2 size chenille. I use it on all my jigs.

I think the "small" is too small for that size jig. Is there a fly shop nearby where you can compare sizes of chenille?

He is right about the small being too small. I guess if you got some 1/124oz or something like that is OK, but for a 1/16 and even 1/32 and larger a #2 is good. I use it on 1/8 & 1/4 also and just double wrap it for them.

The small is more for flies.

Yeah, Bass Pro carries it. The stuff I'm using is about 1/8" in diameter.
