    Default Internal GPS antenna?

I was looking at the Humminbird 787 and noticed that its available with either and external or internal antenna. I am assuming an external antenna would be the type where you mount the "puck" somewhere on the boat and an internal antenna would be what? Would this mean the antenna is within the unit? If so, does anyone own one of these? I'd think that would be a very desirable unit since it eliminates mounting the puck antenna on the boat. Am i right in my assumption of what an internal antenna is?

Search the electronics forum for "antenna" and you should get a lot of hits as there has been several discussion on the subject. Hope this helps.

I have a Lowrance with a internal antenna. Works great. I opted for a internal, since it is easier to switch back and forth with my automobile for GPS use.
