Go to co-op they can help you
hello fellow crappie fisherman and women. i know this is'nt fishing but it's a hunting question and you all have alway's been more than happy to help...my buddy and i are plan'n on trying our tecomate food plot's again this year. wondering if anyone has any suggestion's on what to use to kill the weed's but not the seed. we tilled and limed to the best of our ability last year but we still had quite a few weed's growing in with the plant's itself. were not professional farmer's by any mean's and needed advise on something to help with the weed's but not affect the seed. were doing this in northern missouri if that help's or make's a difference. thank's all in advance for any suggestion's you may have...good fishing to you all:D

FISH-ON!!!!!
1. Do soil tests and fertilize/lime according to the results.
2. prepare the seedbed.
3. Wait two weeks and spray the weeds that are now growing with Roundup.
4. Wait two more weeks and spray again.
5. Next day, sow your seed. (Take the Tecomate back and sow ladino clover.)
Try to plant no more than a day or two before a good soaking rain. Do not skimp on the soil tests. Get the pH where the clover wants it and the weeds will have trouble coming back. But let that pH fall, and the weeds will take over.
If this is a summer plot, let the weeds grow. They have as much nutrients as anything you'd plant otherwise. For fall plots, do as I recommended. If you want a late season/ early winter plot, throw out some Dwarf Essex Rape and Austrian Winter Peas.
When I plant widflower plots, I spray with round-up, then till ever 3 weeks till fall, then plant. There is a product called Over-the-top that can be sprayed on flowers, but I don't know if it would work for you. Check with a nursery.
thanx a lot for the info guy's. i really appreciate it:D
