I use a loop knot on my upper jig or jigs but i still prefer a palomar on the bottom. Some of the guru's will use a loop on everything.

Good things come to those who bait.
I personally like the loop knot. Especially when trolling multiple jigs. If I'm pushing jigs or minnows, all the knots are loops, except the bottom one, which is connected to the sinker. There I use a clinch knot/palomar, whatever ya call it. I also like the loop when fishing a jig below a float. Saw Russ Bailey at a seminar in northern Kentucky a couple years ago, and he showed us the loop knot below the float and why it works best. I tried it, and haven't tied another knot since.

I like to use a loop knot when tying jigs,I've been using one I saw on a Wally Marshall video and it works really well and is easy to tie.
