I have them on the transom of two jon boats 14' and 16'. You can lower & raise your anchor while seated in front or middle of boat, no crawlin around. A tip: Use the largest diameter rope that pulley will accept, about 3/8", because smaller rope will wedge on sides of pulley sometimes.

I have them on my Jon, one on the port bow, one on the starboard stern. Ditto everything "gone fishin'" said.
