    Default Rods for trolling?

Hey guys, I'm starting to outfit my boat for the spring and I'd like to get setup for pushing jigs out of the front of the boat. I was curious on a couple of things. First, what length rods are mostly used for pushing? And second, I've seen the rods from Cabelas called "Whuppin' Stick", but it's only rated as a lite action rod, and I was curious if this was too light to a action to handle 1/4 oz.-1/2oz. sinkers for this type of trolling? Any input would be great appreciated. Thanks for all the advice. Rollcaster..........................

    Thumbs up

I have some (3) whuppin stick rods and they handle 1/2-3/4 ounce weight pretty well and they are tough but you can feel the light bite as well. I use them for tight lining and trolling...I only wish they had reel seats instead of adjustable rings for reels, I taped them up pretty good to hold reel firm but for the money there great..GOD Bless Russ

    Default Whuppin' Sticks

I have three of the 9' and two of the 12' Sticks from Cabela's and they work great. Use mine mainly for trolling but they will work for pushing too. I bought the combo's with the spinning reels which are very smooth and come with and extra spool. Just my 2 cents.
