rain, cold, and a little windy
but worth it. We limited out first time this year. Hope it is only the first of many. Found our fish in deep water, not really suspending but very close to the bottom on creek channell edges between 19-32' of water. Caught them fishing a double jig rigged with southern pro tube jigs, the best being black and blue and blue, red and chartuese. Water temp was 50 degrees. Cloudy, rainy, and wind about 10-15, with occaisional slacking off to 5mph. Started at 10am and had a limit around 3:30pm.
There is a sound the crappie fisherman know, that is sweet music to their ears. Toward the end of a good fishing day, the sound made when a crappie is thrown into the livewell. There is no splash, ......only a SMACK.
