    Default What Line

I'm going to get some new line for my reels - and where I'm getting it, they don't sell the WM line...

    What do you all recommend...

I was looking at the Shakespeare Cajun Red...???

cajun red is ok if you don't do any night fishing. when it gets dark that stuff disapears, and you'll miss a lot of bites. Just my two cents. I like mr crappie hi-vis.

I have had good luck with 4# Fireline Crystal on ultra lites and 8# Crystal on my med. outfit.. It acts a little stiff at first, but the more I use it the better I like it. My other line is the 6# WM Hi-vis

Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Trilene is a good line. A lot of people like the cajun red, but I didn't care for it too much. It is stronger, but it had too much memory for me and seemed to twist a lot worse.

I love both Vanish Transition fluorocarbon (for really clear ponds and lakes without a whole lot of structure) and Trilene XT (for vertical jigging really brushy structure-filled ponds and lakes where snags occur almost every cast). 4-6 lbs line works great but may have to move up to 8 lbs where heavy brush and snags are a problem!!!!!!

6# Trilene XT Clear here, but I plan on trying the Mr. Crappie High Vis Yellow this year.
