depthfinder questions humminbird garmin

was looking at a humminbird 747c anyone got one or had anyone tell them anything bad about humminbird also was looking at a garmin400 db whats everyones preference?just trying to gain a little info on these finders as always thanks dave

I'm real happy with my HB 797 but I've not had any experience with Garmin sonar units. Garmin does have great GPS units.

I have a Humminbird 787c2i. Its the best unit I've ever used.

I have used both Garmin and humminbird.at present I use the 797si and the 777 on the trowlling motor... I like the humminbird. but I wouldnt turn down a garmin ....I use garmin hand held and love it.the garmin fish finders and the fish finders/gps combos are verry nice... toss up for me
