I would like to seal the cork handles on my rods and would like to know if any of you know what to clean them with before I apply the sealer.
Thanks,Len
check out what the "fly boys" have to say about cleaning cork handles -

And Len, please note the sealer name (U-40) and the statement by Msuiceman, that the "feel" of the handle changed (after sealing). I'm not trying to persuade you in either direction. Heck, I've left the plastic wrap on them, before ... for quite some time. But, wet hands don't hold to plastic as well as cork, even wet cork. About half of my rods have cork handles, the rest have foam handles. The foam ones are OK - but the cork ones seem to transmit "signals" (ie bites) a little better.
Thanks for the post - it has reminded me that I need to do a little cleaning and maintenance work on my equipment. Got to get my stuff all "purtied up" for the oncoming season. As we all know - clean equipment not only works better, it lasts longer ! ..........luck2ya ......cp
