i use just regular unleaded but mine is oil injected so no mixing here
Regular unlead in a new 150 merc......It's what Merc recommends
regular unleaded 16oz.oil to 6gal. of gas old motor runs good. they say here in Missouri we are going to 10percent ethenol.. some say that it will seperate, some say it wont that the driving will keep it mixed up and there will be no problems with the alcohol seperating with the gas/oil mix any thoughts on that... I understand that the seperation can cause the motor to burn the pistions, not a motor man and dont have any Idea, but was wondering.
93 octane BP fuel only. It will save you problems down the road
FISH-ON!!!!!
We have been on 10% ethanol for several years now. Regular gas works just fine. The only problem I have heard of definately caused by ethanol gas is with mid 1990 Merc motors. They used rubber type check valves in the fuel pumps and the ethanol causes the edges to curl up. Early symptoms is the motor tends to die out after running at WOT. The kits from Merc replace them with a different material.
DON'T use that 18 month old gas!

I use reg in my 25 johnson. Years ago my marine guy told me to use the best I could get, and a name brand for the best long range life of any outboard. I'm just cheap.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Using premium fuel in a motor that isn't designed for it is asking for problems. Besides being a waste of money, it can cause carbonation problems. High octane fuel doesn't ignite as easily as low octane fuel, and its only advantage is that the engine can run at higher compression. Unless you have a high performance engine, stick with the low octane stuff.
what about build up in your carbs. 93 oct burns cleaner with less build up
