Default fixing soft plastics to jigheads

I realize that many of you fix a grub to a jighead using super glue, but for me it's a pain to strip off that chunk of plastic and glue stuck on the collar once the tail is destroyed. I came up with this idea about 8 years ago and posted it on riversmallie.com, but for some reason the consensus was to still use glue.

In any case, the tip is easy to implement using soft plastic coated craft wire from any craft store and grubs will last for over 50 fish or casts (whichever comes first), damages a less used grub that is in short supply and most important, keeps it from sliding down the #^&*%# jig after a few casts or fish!

    1. Twist the wire arount the line tie
    2. Clip short one side
    3. Bend the remaining side to form an L
    4. Use needle nose pliars to squeeze the wire tighter under the line tie.
    5. Push the grub into place
    6. Swing the wire end into the grub as shown to fix it
    7. If the wire end is a little long and protrudes, clip it off with wire cutters

The white one is salted, probably a Yamamoto; the chartreuse one is Mr Twister. I rarely use either for panfish and have favorites that have worked every year and season since I started using them.

The latch (good name BTW) works on all grubs and shads and I always keep some wire wrapped around a popsicle stick, small pliars and cutters to rig up the lock on new jigheads. Glue stinks and is messy.

The wire is used for artificial floral arrangements, is soft, coated with green plastic to keep the rust down and a few bucks for 20 feet roll. You can also use the soft wire used to hang pictures, but it rust.

I also use the wire instead of toothpicks to fix plastic worms. I make a staple shape (u), push one end into the worm/line tie, bend it down toward the back of the worm and clip off the excess of the other end that protrudes just below it. It does little damage to the plastic, fish don't detect it, plus it's reusable.

I was taking a close look at these yesterday. I've never used them but wondered if they worked well.
