    Default Replacing Roller Guides

Do any of you know how the roller guides down the middle of the boat trailer come off. I have the boat off of the trailer right now having the trailer worked on and noticed that all 3 of the rollers need replaced but not sure how to get them off. Help!
    Thanks

Most of the ones I've seen have endcaps pressed on. A little creative slinging of a hammer should knock 'em off.

Thanks Matt. That is what I thought but wanted to know for sure before I started beating with a hammer. Do you know if new ones come with rods and end caps?

    Thanks

I've replaced a lot of them over the years and never got a roller with the shafts. The end caps are also called cap nuts or pal nuts depending on who makes them.

I replaced my shafts with bolts and lock nuts makes future changing easier. I get my rollers from Agri supply they have a good selection and alot cheaper than BPS or other places. If you don't have an Agri Supply check out Tractor Supply.

Rods come with end caps. Rollers are purchased separately.

A screwdriver and a hamnmer will do it. Try knocking them off evenly and they can be re-used.

Thanks guys. I found everything at Academy Sports. Rollers, rods and caps. I didn't realize they carried so much boat stuff. I wish I had bought me hub and bearings there. Would have saved me some money.

    Default One more question

I need to replace the trailer winch strapping. Academy had winches with the strapping on it but did not sell just the strapping. Where can you find this or do you have to buy the whole winch?

    Thanks again
