Use the same technique as has been described for crappie. Put some shallow
and then some progressively deeper. The larger bluegill will be shallow for the spawn but will seek deeper water as the summer heats up. Your brush will act as a hiding place and resturant. During the spawn bluegill will have their beds in open sheltered water. If you are refering to shellcrackers as bluegill then the situation may be different.
