Crappie fishing on a private lake in Tuscaloosa yesterday (sun.) and could not locate crappie. Overall lake temp. was 59-60 deg. so picked up a mess of bream and decided to try one last spot before heading in. Lo and behold for some reason the water was 4.5 deg. warmer than rest of lake in a spot about the size of an average home. It was on, picked up 14 nice crappie on bed (males black spawn color) in a matter of less than 30 minutes.
So watch for those isolated warm pockets now it pays off.

Guppy We did the same thing monday the 21st, down on the warrior river back up in a slew where the temp got to about 58 to 60 deg. Drove in 56 nice ones most were black males, but there were a few females. They were probally feeding.
