    Default How do you?

Keep track of jigs you have made? I make a lot of jigs at times, not for sell, just because its a challenge to make one that will catch a fish. I do give away some to anyone I'm with to try but if they ever lost them all and wanted some more I wouldn't have any idea what I made and gave them. How do you handle that?

I have all the pics I take on my computer in folders that tell what is in that folder. I miss taking some when I am tying an order and don't take a pic of each one. However most I have pics of.

I also have many of them stored at Photobucket.com as well as my web site.

I have my jigs tacked to the bulletin board in bag What I am trying to say is that I put one of each jig that I make into sealed 2x2bags and tack them to a corked bulletin board.

I use photobucket and/or put a picture of them on my website. I also keep a "sample" of my best ones in my aquarium. I cut off the end so the fish do not hook themselves. I then suspend it under a Bobber so I can actually visualize the pulsating action and see for myself the attracting and triggering qualities the fish see underwater.

I also use an excel spreadsheed to help with the ordering process as well as an orderform done in MS Word.

The best thing to do is put in a bag with a small post it note or an index card with the recipie (list of materials) so you can go back and make more. This is a trick fly tyers use.

ditto hear too, I have everything in its own bag with a number on it. When that item is ordered from my site it has that number tagged to it so I just look it up, pull it out and have it right there in front of me to recreate.

if its a 1/32 jig I sart the numbers with 32 then the item number
