    Default Panfish on plastics


    We went out early saturday looking for some crappies, none in their usual spots, did a lot of moving around, finally went where others were fishin, started getting gills pretty good, lots of small ones with some keepers mixed in. Got em on a 1 80th oz jig with makiplastics. Crappies started biting near sundown, got a few eaters. a long but fun day on the ice...

    nice fish man! here in mid illinois out waters are about 35-37 degrees with most ponds and smaller lakes froze....I can ALMOST feel me drilling them holes!

    I got out to ice some panfish this weekend tried a few spots, the bite was tough but I was able to finesse a few on plastics and micro leadheads...

    I had a good three day weekend doing lots of icefishing up north with Jack, Cory, Dave Lindmark, Ben newton and his brother Calvin, and Casey. Lots of big sunfish were biting in the weeds and out on deeper flats. Plastics worked well, so did maggots, waxies and gulp baits.
    Pike , bass , crappies, perch, and rockbass kept us busy too, but no walleyes were to be found.
