Ice Fishing Shelters

I am in the market for a new ice shelter. I would like to get one that is big enough for two people to fish. Does anybody have any suggestions, likes and dislikes. Thanks.

Bought A Clamcorp Clam 2000. Great For Two People.enough Room To Move Around, Your Feet Are Offthe Ice, And Reasonably Priced. I Dont Think You Can Go Wrong With Any Of Their Products, Great Customer Service Department, If Anything Should Go Wrong!

Will you be dragging or hauling?
What sort of vehicle do you have to haul it?
What kind of money can you spend?

Don't forget about HT - www.htent.com. I have a one-man flip over that works great at around 50 pounds. They have other models too. Just remember the two-man shanties start to get heavy (75 pounds or so). I do like the new clam suitcase style with the domed roof. I think I saw one at Cabela's for around $160. I think I might pick one up next year. I'll have to see how my 11 year old daughter like ice fishing.

The only trouble I've had with my Clam 2000.
After using it a few times (I just bought it last Nov.) the inside started to fleck off like. On a sunny day it looked like there were a thousand little pin holes. We'll see what she looks like this year. If we ever get some fishable ice here in N.W. PA.

I have had a Fish Trap Pro for a few years and I am very happy with it.
I woudn't hesitate to purchase there 2 man model if I were in the market
for one.
It has held up well in some very strong winds (just make sure you have it
anchored):D

If you've got alittle extra to spend, I'd highly reccomend an Otter brand.They have models to fit any needs.I like the square tubing(heavy duty) better than most brands round conduit and the sled is heavy duty.Another brand I looked at that alittle less money is the Eskimo.You can get a nice flip over two man with bench seat lots of room for around 300.00.Good luck.

OtterOutdoors makes the finest houses.Built right here in Mn.
Maple Lake to be exact.Add a set of hyfax runners & I doubt you'd ever need another one for a long time.

I sure like my Shappell DX3000. Plenty of room for 2. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 lbs. Add ski package that should have been installed in the factory and you are good to go. High wind--MUST ANCHOR. lol Towing at 70 mph.w/heavy load on it-- Look elsewhere. lol Mike
