    Default schoolies by size

How many of you have gotten into a massive school of crappie? How many have found that schools usually hold a certain size fish?

Most of the time the schools have mixed sizes, but occasionally I will run across schools of just white or blacks of similar sizes. Unusually large fish often don't school. I often catch a bunch of similar fish, but catch a single monster all by it self when I'm not hitting others.
Good things come to those who bait.

Schools vary from place to place! You can catch them all big or all small and even mixed.

totally agree. I've gotten into tons of small ones, put you end up with a few bigg'ns. Or you'll just lay into a school of all bigg'ns.
Most of the time I've found that the little ones tend to school up is larger groups thou.

For example: Today I caught 61 fish under 10" and 19 fish over 10" , all from 2 brush sets. I lost many nice fish... not takin plain jigs to well. But I hadda mixed bag of blacks & whites. The bigger fish were closer to to the bottom, hadda work for em'.

I've read that crappie school by size, and go by that. If I'm catching small ones I will usually move and look for bigger ones.
    can't catch'em at home
