Doest't look like to many 727 owners out there I have two Humminbirds the 777 up front and the 797 on the console. I like both ot them the detail is great and the ease of operation is a plus. might think of one of those two. I think most depth/fish locators are good just depends on what you get and like . MTS worth.

I have the 727, good unit. I stepped up from the 500 series and the screen shows much more detail. a lot of bang for the buck.

    Default 565 727

I have the 727 up front and the 565 in the back. They both are simular great units, just one has built-in GPS. They will locate the fish on structure. You can see the jig...kinda like a video game...lol.

How quickly do those Humminbirds update? The reason I ask is my Lowrance 332C updates very slowly, sometimes it takes more than 2 minutes. You can go a long way and miss a lot of water even when you are trolling in two minutes.

I'm thinking of trying something besides the Lowrance

I hope I'll be pleased with it. Santa came early today and it is now mounted on the boat. I lost an Eagle SF 480 so I dont know if this is a step up or not. Gotta get on the lake and start checking it out.

Sound like you may be doing more playing than fishing for a while.
