    Default PFD question

A guy I work with is looking for an inflatable PFD like this one:

    http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...pod&id=0038078

Can anybody recommend one? He's looking for one that will automatically inflate once you hit the water.

My wife and I got the Sospenders. They are light and comfortable and you can wear them all day without discomfort. We got the automatics. We are both good swimmers but we are aging. Most (boating) drownings are from lack of wearing pfd's. Our lives (at least to us) are worth the price of the good pfds. Don't go cheap with your life.

By law, you have to wear these pfd's while on the water. You can get fines if you don't wear them on the water or do not have another life vest on display. The flotation cushion is not sufficient.

Another thing, if you got it on, you ain't stumbling over it.

I have the hydrostatic Mustang and I really like it. I wear mine all the time, and don't really notice it any more.

BPS Deluxe vest has rave reviews for $129.95. The Eliminator reviews say it is junk and will inflate sitting in the garage, The deluxe is alot like the Mustang for about $100 less. Just my .02

Sospenders will do it too. I took mine off briefly and layed it on the deck right behind me and partner on a hot August day a couple of years ago.......long story short, fishing was slow, but that unexpected inflation show livened thangs up!!!
