Default If you don't think the baitpump works...

I was watching Russ Baily's Midwest Crappie on www.myoutdoorstv.com (once there, on the right hand side click search, then in the small box that says NULL, type in CRAPPIE). Russ' fishing with Guide Tim Nicely. While fishing, in Part 2 of 2, at 7 mins, Russ shows Tim the Baitpump and how it works. Apparently Russ had been catching nicer and bigger fish and then a few scenes later, the GUIDE goes for the PUMP!!! I LOVE IT!!! Thanks Russ for the show. Thanks Randy for the baitpump.

PS. RUSS IF YOU READ THIS, PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR VIDS TO YOUTUBE SO WE CAN DO SOME LINKING TO SHOWS SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THEM EASIER THAN HAVING TO SEARCH LIKE I DESCRIBED ABOVE...Sorry for the caps...Is there an easier way to search them out if you can't get them on Youtube? THanks

Yes that ol Bait Pump has been hovering around me like a jig in around and over a crappie condo for some time now. Seeing all the testimonial's from hither and yon about The Bait Pump had been tempting me somewhat but as a rather lazy fisherman I had been just sitting by and watching.

Yes I use Crappie Nibbles when the bite is slow but would quit messing with them if I was catching fish without them. That laziness extends to changing jig colors or beat up jig bodies for fresh jig bodies on the hook. I would guess the majority of baits I use are solid body baits and not tube baits which was what The Bait Pump was shown being used on and therefor didn't see that much advantage for using The Bait Pump.

Then something triggered me to jump out of the cover and thump 'The Bait Pump" and The Bait Pump folks reeled me in with my order. The order was placed on a Friday around 2:30 pm and received at my house on Monday. I sure can't complain about that service. It sure seemed like a good and solid piece of plastic and well machined.

That trigger for me was watching Russ Bailey insert The Bait Pump tip into the body of a pan assassin, as I recall, and injecting it with a dab of nibble paste on his show with Tim Nicely. It seemed like to me I had always seen the pump being used on tube baits but now I saw it could be used on solid baits too. Something that I just might be able to use and need to have now.

This isn't a testimonial for The Bait Pump but just stating what caused me to go for it. The pump may well be just one more item of many in my tackle box and boat that I end up not using.

I am thinking of making a new jig that will allow using the bait pump better than just putting a piece of tubing on it. I will try to make one this week and see how it comes out.

I've been carrying one around for nearly 2 years in my fishing "Misc" bag and have never used it yet.

Might have to try it this winter for some slip fishing.

I have to admit it looks real sturdy. I'm sure my boy will get allot of use out of it.

LBM, How did he apply it to the solid body? Just insert it in the middle?

He just forced the tip into the jig body and left a bolus of nibble paste in the jig body.
