I see no reason why that wouldn't work scanoe. I have read about that somewhere. You could go with 1/16th on top and a 1/8th on the bottom. Most crappie can still get a 1/8th in their mouth.
First of all I would like to say this sight is awesome. I learn something every
time I visit here which is pretty often.
My question is when jigging, trolling or dropshotting a lot of times a weight is added to keep your jigs at the the depth your wanting but why not just use a large jig on the bottom instead? You have the extra weight and the chance for catching a bigger fish, I realize that sometimes you may get hung up more often but not in all cases.
Thanks for the feedback,

true crappie can get the big jigs in their mouth, however i have found that i catch many more and often times larger crappie when using a smaller jig. My standard jig is a 1/32 oz jig, and i will catch many, many more crappie than those around me using 1/16 or 1/8 oz jigs. But everyone has there own preference. good luck
