Just curious what some of the rest of you think about the "content"
of the last few magazines they've sent out...

    Bottomfeeders R us :p

I went over to their website msg board to tell them to save their stamp, but it
isn't working for me Anyway, as for me personally, let's
    just say "not amused"

I'm not a member, but I am curious. What's the content been like lately? And what did it use to be like?

Well, I managed to get a msg put up on their board...
Never let it be said that I don't say what's on my mind.

Deathb4disco, it used to be about crappie fishing, kinda what one would
expect to get from crappie usa, after all it is (was?) a crappie tournament
organization. Now it is 95 percent about catfish

I think it's real neat that the cat guys are getting some recognition,
and have their own tournament organization (the king kat thing) but ya know,
if I want to get into that, I'll JOIN that, not crappie USA
I know, they're somehow joined at the hip, the two organizations, but I
still can't believe they would think they can get away with doing what they
    are.

According to them, they made the merger with Catfish Gold to save money, but the magazine is 95% about catfishing.

Crappieusa is all about the money! They hardly ever payout right at tourneys. Employees fish lakes bfore tourneys and then win? The classic is always in a convient area for them and never in the south. Florida, Ga, and Al all have to drive a long ways to compete.

    Default Crappie USA

I use to be a member, and ya'll might remember a while back I made a couple post about how Crappie USA was being run and there are losing members fast
to CrappieMasters, and for good reason.
CUSA won't share money taken in on the tournaments, put a pencil to the boats entered and the payout, it's a joke.
Unless you win, you can't cover your expense. I think that the Catfish guys
are so eager to get some coveage and a few tournaments, that they can't see what's taking place.
CUSA see's new meat to be taken with the catfisherman, and they know they are losing crappie memberships, but they are so greedy and unwilling to
share. It's a shame the way it's going down, and they should be a shame also.
I will never give them another dollar, to put in there greedy hand.
My name crappie cowboy and I approve this message.

About the money, well - I've been slow to get too critical of them,
because my limited experience with them, it seems like they paid OK,
at least I was glad to get what we won. I try to realize that they're
paying out two divisions, amateur and semi-pro, so it might at first glance
look shabby compared to others that put it all in one pot.

And a lot of folks I've talked to seem to be like a bunch of chickens,
jumpin on the bloody one and pecking it :D I guess that don't mean much
to anyone who ain't experienced in the ways of chickens, but ANYWAY -
they run a real professional show, and I really liked a lot of the folks I've met
at the tournaments - maybe with the exception of that p.r. dude at the
classic... I didn't much care for the way he told me to pull my shades off
and get my hat out of my eyes - and wear matching shirts if we had them :p
If'n I had it to do over, I'd probably of given him a talking to but I gave
him a pass, because well, he weren't from around these here parts, if you
know what I mean - don't figure he is schooled in how to talk to us
    rednecks

And I got a lot of gripes with crappie tournaments in general, but maybe
that's a topic for another time.

Yeah, I'm not feeling too warm and fuzzy about them either. I set up a boat to fish tournaments with them but I'm not willing, at the cost of gas, to drive all over the Sotheastern U.S. to fish their tournaments. Just costs too much for what you get. Oh yeah, the magazine sucks.

Jeff, I don't know where your going with, and mean with the chicken pecking, but I don't think of myself as a chicken and peckin them on head. But if you say I'm a chicken I guess I'm a chicken...cluck cluck cluck, peck peck.
There tournaments are not on a level playing field, Pstone came in fifth place and, I don't think he was paid anything, I could be wrong.
If I'm wrong about what I said, someone show me, and I'll speak up and say I was wrong.
You've for sure have had more dealing with them than me, but it just don't seem right if you come in, say fifth place in semi pro div.and don't get in the money. That's bull poopie.
The CUSA local tournaments are a joke compared to crappiemasters, there pay out way on down the list. CUSA don't have a boat prizes and like CrappieMasters, but in defense of CUSA they have two divs to pay out, BUT not very places get paid.
Like I said If I'm wrong somebody show me where I'm wrong, and I'm be a man
about it and say I was wrong. Cluck Cluck
