Reply With Quotedecent rod but it is a little heavy. it has a pretty stiff backbone so that probally constitutes for the weight. good rod for yankin them out of dense cover. have several s heaton's and like them alot better.

I would have to agree with sowbelly. I love my Sam Heatons and have fished extensively with both. When I load up for a tourney, I always grab my Sam Heatons. I am convinced I can feel the bite better than I can on the Ultimate.
They are very nice rods though.
