Its true as far as I can tell. I think PVC has the same density as the water around it so it gives the same sonar signature as water. This is the same principal that allows a transducer to be able to read through a fiberglass hull.

Sticksteer recommended putting some foil tape on some of the pvc arms and it should show up on df....I haven't tried this yet...But, I think it will work..

The density of PVC is approx 1.37 g/cc (average)
The density of water is approx 1g/cc
PVC is quite a bit more "dense".
Like sac-a-lait said "Turn up the sen" you should be able to see it.
once the spere's are covered with algee which take's awhile they should show up better you think. I'm not sure
I can't verify this first hand but have heard that if you switch your graph into flasher mode that the pvc stake beds would show up.

I have no problem picking up PVC cribs with my 997 side birdie in the side views. Don't show up as good as most wood cribs but once you see them you know what they are.

I just dropped several PVC trees into a lake that I fish, and I could see mine right away. They looked just like Christmas Trees down there. I'm running a Lowrance 522c.
