I find that it really doesnt matter.
I never really use them. My heads are just one solid color.
I don't put eyes on unless the customer wants them. Do they work with out eyes? Sure they do, but the one thing that makes me think that at times it may make a difference. While reading some tips on a board some where the topic of eyes came up and the question that always comes to my mind when discussed is this "have you ever seen a bait fish with out eyes?"
Nature puts fake eyes on animals to help protect them when they are small and still growing. Like the red fish with spots on it's tail or even butterflies and may other animals in nature have some kind of fake eye to get any attack to hit the tail instead of their head.
So maybe it helps at times and maybe not, but since nature puts fake eyes on some animals I would think it can help at times. I will put them on my personal ones some times, but not 100% of the time, not even near 100%.
Done well they look great though!

I think eyes are just like colors. Some times a certain color works and sometimes they don't. Thats one of the many things that makes crappie fishing so challenging. (and fustrating) LOL

Let the fish decide which they prefer.
Hey...jerk...your bobber's under!!!
I haven't found it matters. I haven't seen a fish without eyes, but I haven't seen a chartreuse fish either. :p
I use eyes on my personal ones because I am trying to imitate a minnow or something a fish would eat. If a customer wants them, I'll do that because it is their preference.
