    Default 997 tranducer mounts

Is there a mount out for the 997 that will break away when you hit a stump? I hate to break that transducer. If its not i need to fabricate one i guess.

I like this word fabricate. Has more "punch" to it than the prissy "design" word.

We all have that problem. After hitting mine and knocking it up I decided to get the SI HSK mounting kit. On the big honker is mounted up in the step where it's hard for it to get hurt. The thru-hull ducer is glued in and both are connected by a switch. I had a hard time turning loss of $150 for it But if it saves me once It's payed for it's self. You do loss allot of insensitivity with the tru-hull ducer. I'll try to attach a snapshot of it... Does anyone know how to downsize a bitmap image??? It won't post

Had to convert the file in paintshop and resized in photoshop. I started out shooting through the hull and then flipped the switch to the si ducer. You can see how much sensitively you loss when going through the hull.

That was shot on sonar only. thu- hull then out side. Thats about a dead-on comparison between the two ducers in sonar mood. The big ducer is mount under the step with that drop-down plate removed. So it's up high and protected.
