    Default Tip

Just wanted to throw this out, maybe it can help someone. To keep my bodkin safe and clean, after I use it I insert it into a wine bottle cork with a lil twist. Seems to keep it clean pretty well.

Anyone else wanna share some tips?

OK to clean you bodkins just get a film canister and make a small hole in the top. Fill it with steel wool and when you bodkin needs cleaning just stick it in and out of the film canister a few times, maybe rotate it some.

You can also buy a bodkin that comes with a Alum. holder with steel wools inside it for cleaning and keeping it.

Use a dental floss threader to thread you bobbins, you know the little blue plastic ones.

For head cement get a Qt. of good clear Lacquer and use it thinned with MEK. I know MEK is more costly than some, but it evaporates slower too. This would be a supply that last a very long time.

For painting eyes (I have posted this already) use a cheap set of drill bits with a flat end and use one about half that size for the black part.
