No problem Ed. Thanks for all you do. Hey cane pole, think you can fix ed up with something that he can use remotely? Would porbably be an easy task for you.
just drove home to reboot this server that went down this morn right after I left for work, talk about bad luck, and this is the new server I just moved Crappie.com to right before Thanksgiving, darn it
What I need, is a way to reboot the server remotely. A little finger that extends and presses the power button, anyone know oif one? That way, at least the outages would be short.
Now I have to figure out why this brand new darn server went down. darn it, darn it
but for now, back to work I go

Thanks
Ed,
If you are using HP servers, you can purchase an ILO card (Internal Lights Out) to reboot to. Just have to have a static IP to assign to it, then you can RDP into the ILO and power up/down/restart the server, even if it is locked up.
