Friday was slow, not many boats in Wehadkee where we fished. Started out south of the railroad trestle on the east side and picked up very few fish and even fewer were keepers. At lunch time we put in at Sunny Point access and fished the west side of the road bed which is off to the right of the landing. We managed to pick up a lot of small fish and ended the day around 5:00 pm with 13 fish in the livewell. Too few to bother with so we put them back to catch another day. A friend of mine fished on the river at Eufaula the same day, north of Florence Marina, and reported 33 Crappie with the largest weighing 2 lbs. 5 oz. and 15 Hybrids. We should’ve made the drive and fished there.

Sunday the 13th, my son and I fished Wehadkee again in the first cove to the west of the Hwy 109 bridge. Again, a lot of small fish, and only 7 keepers from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Again, we turned ‘em loose to fight another day. Oh well, that’s why it’s called “fishing” and not, “catching”, right?
