Hi folks.
I am an avid trout angler who lives in the north and who also enjoys ice fishing for crappies in the winter. I tie my own trout flies so I was thinking of tying up a bunch of small jigs for crappies this winter. I'll probably use tiny lead heads, chenille and various hairs and fur.
About color though, I was just wondering - if you could only have one color combination - what would it be? It doesn't matter if you ice fish or not, I'd really appreciate knowing what your favorite/ultimate color combo is.
Most of the lakes I ice fish have water that has a brownish stain to it, but a couple are quite clear as well.
Thanks for the suggestions and help.

Orange/Chart with a plain head. They will hit other colors at times but this is always the best combo on my home lake.
I would want a lime glow jig head with a black/chartreuse tube with red flack.I live in Louisiana really cant help you with trout.
I PRACTICE CATCH & FRY---DONT EVERYBODY ? Thumbs Up
Brown and White buckhair with a little flashaboo and peacock feather.
Currently a non-fishing slacker! (not for too much longer)
Black/chartreuse in Texas, atleast on Somerville. Hot pink with just about anything is a good second choice. Can't help with the trout, either.
The blue/chart or the orange/chart would be the one for stained water. The white/black for clear water.
