    Unhappy Torture On Ky. Lake

Well I'll just start by saying that I am on a Towboat running the Tn. River. I was suposed to get off this thing yesterday around noon. My Relief called about the time I should have been getting off & said he wasn't gonna make it! I've been talking to all my buddies & they've been tell'n me about all the fish they've been catch'n! It's been TORTURE!!!

Well I come up to the Pilothouse yesterday morning about 11:15 to relieve the captain. We were down bound at Boatyard light, just above the Old Danville RR Bridge. I was suposed to get off at the ferry landing! I relieved the Captain and took the sticks. As I get to the old bridge I look out the port wheelhouse window & what do I see... Two guys in a big Lowe spider riggin and several others jigg'n along the old river channel!!! That's all it took; instant depression! My arm started jerk'n up on the sticks in an attempt to set the hook... I was reach'n for my minner bucket... It was terrible!!!

So if any of you folks that were fish'n there yesterday & saw the big boat come by about that time read this, and hear about a fat guy on a towboat hanging himself, just know you had a hand in it! :D

We'll be gett'n off this thing this morning some where around Ky Lock & I plan to be on the lake by 10:00, God will'n!

    See Ya out there!

That's one of the reasons I don't do that anymore! I loved the work but no one respected your time off! Now I work on a Casino boat, off every 12 hrs no matter what my hands are in I can turn it over to my relief.:D
Have a good time off and I hope you catch lot's of them "CRAPPIES"! :p

There are two things to aim for in life: First, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieves the second. Author unknown, but I like it!
