Where to place your transducers.

Don't really matter as long as they are in the water. There are all sorts of things that come into play, but most of all that "thang" gotta be in water. Bass Pro Shop has a good library about stuff like this. Go to Bass Pros web page and click on their outdoor libray (bottom right screen). Lots of good info here.

I see the BPS site is saying there is only a decrease of 10% in signal strengthween mounting inside a fiberglass boat. I had read somewere that shooting through fiberglass reduced the signal by as much as 25%. I wonder if this is a change based on newer information or if there has been some improvement in transducer signals.

This site was just posted on a local board today about a transducer that shoots through aluminum hulls. I was not aware this could be done through aluminum! Very interesting though.
