    Cool Bait sacks

Has anyone tried baiting in crappie with cottonseed meal blocks ? I talked to a fellow the other day that swears by em. Said he puts them in a burlap sack or onion sack ,weights them and ties them off to a stump or tree. He leaves them about three days before fishing them . He is a fisherman....so theres a chance he could be telling a whopper .

    If fathers don't lie
    And fishermen do
Can a man be a father
    And a fisherman too?

Just be careful with dem blocks as U will have 98% of carp in area surround your boat. Cotton seed blocks are in top 3 of alltime best carp baits here in mdwest.

My father used it in hoop nets for catfish. Last time I looked for it I could only find soybean cake and it didn't work well. Cottonseed does. Something about it souring in the water.

What we did years ago was take Jim Dandy dog food and bake it into a
pone just like cornbread put it in a onion sack .Tie this to a good size
buck brush and sink in the lake come back the next week-end and fish
the brush pile.Always caught fish, just a way of speeding up bait coming to
    the brush
