Hard to fish in gloves. No good way around it. But they say you can get you some wrist sweat bands and tuck a small chemical handwarmer under each one. Put it right on the inside of the wrist, where you would check your pulse, and help warm the blood to the fingers.

I haven't tried it yet. But I just might.

A buddy of mine brought baked potatoes wrapped in foil one day. It was so funny to see the heat coming from his pockets. I kept telling him he was on fire. lol, he said it worked for him.
I always thought of using surgical gloves, but never tried them.

Boy I hear you.....The fishing up here in PA has been really good the last month, but you pay for it with freezing hands. This weekend has the highs in the upper 40's and there has been wind,so I'm ready to try anything to keep my hands warm.

For me if I can keep my head, neck, ears and feet warm (really toasty warm) I find that it is much easier to keep my hands warm.

I've seen some folks fishing with just a baseball type hat and exposed ears on the water when I'm all bundled up. I don't know how they can stay on the water.

I also use the chemical handwarmer packets that I just insert in my glove on the back of my hand.

When it is really cold I'll use a Glacier Glove flipmitt type. With these I will have a pair of plain ol brown jersey gloves on under the flip mitts with a chemical packet on the backs of my fingers in the flip part of the glove.

Great looking catch for sure. I've found that gloves just don't work when crappie fishing whether using minnows and especially jig fishing. The best thing I've found is to keep a warmer pouch in your pockets (fire them up before you leave the house so they're nice and warm by the time you hit the water -- the large ones from WalMart work good). And, then before you go to bed lotion your hands up good with Bag Balm (some feed stores call it Utter Cream). Yeah, I know it's for cows but it's medicated and heals your skin from the abuses of cold and wet real fast. And, I'll add my .02 worth again for keeping your toes warm -- spray them with antiperspirant in the morning before you put your boots on. IT WORKS.

I've never found the perfect solution, but - I've got some fairly cheap
wool knit gloves from Wally World, the ones with the gripper dots on 'em -
and the pointer finger and thumbs, cut just the tip end off, so you can slide back exposing what you need to use, then slide back over. Then I've got a pair of big duck hunter type gloves I wear on a long boat ride. Lots of times
I'll just pull them on over the wool gloves. Works for me
