    Default trolling motor trandsducer mount

i was looking at mouting a trandsucer to my trolling motor shaft,
having it close to the prop does it interfer with the reading on the screen?

also looking at the portable fish finder any one better than the others?

No problem at all mounting the xducer on the TM. I have one there and one on the transom.

works good JUST remember not to pull the tie down to tight on the cables that go up the shaft. I use black tape. if you use the nylon ties they can pinch the cables and cause problems....

To the shaft? Does your shaft turn when you steer the trolling motor?

There are several after market mount kits to allow you to mount the xducer to the trolling motor housing.

Is there a reason to mount the xducer to the shaft and not to the underneath of the motor housing where it won't see any of the trolling motor and possibly have interference.

I also use black tape, for the very same reason

If I were you I wouldn't mess with the skimmer transducer, call your dealer and see if the won't trade your skimmer for a puck, just trust me on this 1. Tried the skimmer and now have a puck. The skimmer worked fine but was way, way to fragile
