    Default Great morning On Weiss Lake with Russ Bailey with pics


    I had the pleasure of fishing with B'n'Ms Pro Staffer Russ Bailey this morning while he was down at Weiss Lake working the Alabama State Championship Tournament - We had some real good crappie using the Bottom Bumping Technique. Russ did a great job with the tournament and is a super nice guy. I really look forward to fishing with Russ again later on...

    Cane Pole
    I use just one hook here on Weiss - Today we were using the B'n'M Pro Staff Troller 8 foot rod spooled with 8 pound test line. I like to use the Eagle Claw snelled hooks with leader about 18 to 20 inches above a 1/2 oz. weight. The stuff we were fishing today would have been real tough to fish with a double hook rig as we were fishing channel ledges loaded with heavy cover...

    I had a great time yesterday. I am ready to come back down and do a couple more shows with you! But.....ORDER SOME WATER FOR THE LAKE!!!!

    Kelly,

    I love bottom bumping, especially when you have double hooks and double up on fishes. It is a real kick in the pants.

    Yah we need some rain in a bad way here - maybe by late winter we will get enough to get the lake up some.

    I know what you mean about doubling up, feels like you have a whale on... I tend to do this in the spring throwing a double jig Southern Pro fly and cork rig.
