Cool Catchin crappie from the yak

Went out this morning for a while fishing with jigs. Slow trolling in the yak and BAM, hooked a 12" crappie. Paddled around a liitle more and then the rod bent double and the ride was on. I had no clue what was on my line. After stripping the drag and towing me around for a while I got him up where I could see him. Of course I left my scale at home but I believe this to be one of the biggest crappie I've ever caught.

I released him and his buddy so I can hopefully catch them again one day.

That is Lake Pickens in Sherman, Texas. It is a 22 acre city owned lake. :D

Nice crappie! I'm sure it pulled you around pretty good on the yak.

Texascrappie how do you like fishing in the yak. I have been thinking about getting one for a couple months. How stable is the sit inside kayak and how dry do you stay? By the way nice slab.
