    Default Rod building for beginners?

Anyone out there build your own crappie rods? It sounds fun, but it also sounds hard. Anyone care to put pics up of your homemade rods or post your horror stories about disastrous results.

I've been thinking about putting some eyes on one of my teloscopic rods. I normally wrap the line around the pole or use electrical tape to keep the line next to the rod. You guys use anything else? I've heard of twist ties being used too.

You can also use heat shrink tubing.

I've been thinking of doing this as well, but don't know where to start. Does anyone know of a good blank?

Go to Rodbuilding.org or Rodguild.com and go through the sponser links and call one of those venders. They are all great and will steer you to a kit to fit your needs. Your first one or too I wouldn't get too carried away with as you be doing the learning while your building.

    Have fun! Its addicting!

Anyone know where you can buy blanks to build 14' to 16' trolling rods that will handle a 5oz weight?
