For those of you having problems with your big HB transducers. I ran across this on iboats.

That is what I have been trying to figure out. Mechanics ain't my bag. I wonder if this could be made from tupperware? Honey has plenty of square containers at the lake.:D

Didn't git to try it out. I cut up a tupperware dish and mounted it behind the xducer mount. You have too look hard to see it (tupperware). Didn't get a chance to try it out. If this works, the I know what to do. I have lots more plastic than aluminum and plenty of time on my hand now to do these "mush do" jobs.

Interesting. All of the spray shield I had seen so far were around and to the top of the transducer. These would not prevent the water spray but just keep it from going anywhere. The ones you have shown look like they would prevent the spray from happening. My only concern would be that they may also cuase air bubbles to pass over the face of the transducer. Let us know if it changes how your unit tracks the bottom at high-speeds.

I like that one. And I know it will not bother my 987 on running fast. AS it has never worked above 20 MPH and I worked on it for over a year.

If the plastic don't work, then I will get Catwagon to make me one of them metal ones. I sure can't make one. Ain't got no wires on it.:D

Seems to be a problem on all the boat forums. So is the 797 lock up.

It looks as if one of those could be made from 2 or 3 inch piece of stainless angle iron. no welding, just mark off cut away lines, and use a metal cutting band saw....just my two cents..
