Default Will Crappie Hit a Top Water Popper?

I tied this (my first large popper) for Bass really, but then was just wondering if a crappie might hit it too? What do you think or do you know if they will hit a top water popper in Spring?

    Thanks,

    Default crappie on top

I don't see why they wouldn't hit a popper on top. In the spring when they are in tight on the nest, they whack just about anything that gets close to 'em. I've caught them casting jigs in shallow water where I had to start the retrieve as soon as it hit the water to keep from hanging up, and they still hit it. It'd be worth a try anyway. You may find something that makes spring spawn fishing even more fun, and with less jigs lost.

I have caught crappie on poppers in the summer while bream fishing. I would count on it working very often though!

I have caught a few while bass fishing private ponds, but very few and with no real pattern. Kinda like catching a bream on a crankbait as long as it is...

I've caught monster slabs from a gravel pit while bass fishing.
I was using a pretty big buzz bait.
The buzz bait's skirt was the same colors you're using for your latest jig (green/chart).

That was the last day I fished for bass!
Your not fishing, unless your crappie fishing!
