Humminbird 997C SI

Does anyone have this unit?? Does it work like the claims say?? I'm considering purchasing one, however with this kind of money I would like to hear from some who have it.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If you do a search on that unit, you will find a number of threads discussing it by people who have one. Best I can tell they all love it.

I have one. Only had it for about 6 months. If something happens to it, I would order another one tomorrow.

If you like to fish, I would not get one. Ever since I picked up my 997, I've been doing allot more looking and a lot less fishing. The funny part is I'm fishing less but catching the same or more fish. I spend about half the time fishing as I did before I had the unit. I guess when I get all the spots marked on my lake, I'll get to fish more. This thing is soooo addictive.

By the way. The customer service at Humminbird is awesome. I was missing a small part from the mounting kit when I got my unit, so I posted here and the SI website asking what I should do. The next day, the part arrived via FedEx. (Then another arrived the day after that) I guess one of the sales reps sent me the part and Humminbird sent it also. I don't know about you, but customer service plays a big part in my purchase decisions. If you read the forums allot, you'll notice a couple of Humminbird folks here helping, posting and listening.
