i just bought the h2oc so far i like it but i did buy the navionics map card to get the lake contours, without it it is a very generic picture of lakes, i have been able to find everything i have dropped.

Yeah without the map card do not even waste your money....i thought the hand held was all i needed, but as soon as you use it for 6 months then you want a bigger screen.....but it does a pretty good job..

Of course it depends on the number of satellites it acquires but over all I've found mine to be very accurate. When I first starting using it I wasn't marking brush piles correctly so I was off a little. Just remember that as you see it on the right hand part of your screen - mark it. Don't wait until its in the middle of the screen because you have done past it.

I don't recall ever being off that far. If I do miss it, I just circle and approach it from a different angle.

Menu twice---Go to MAP DATA and scroll down to Lowrance--ENTER--This will bring up several listings. Sroll to your part of the country. MS. --ENTER-- That should give you your lakes for that part of the country.
You can't finish what you don't start
